About Bill Carney
I
am the "eCommunications/New Media" Director at the
Michigan Republicans.
Loosely translated, it means I am the web geek. Check out www.migop.org to see
my handiwork. Prior to my joining the staff of the GOP I worked as "Director of
Computer Information Systems" for Michigan's Senate Majority Leader, Dan DeGrow,
a Republican from Port Huron, Michigan.
My former employers include Lt. Governor Dick Posthumus and State Senator Joel
Gougeon. Current clients websites can be seen
here.
To the right is a photo of me with Lt. Governor Posthumus at our 1998 (and final) Staff
Christmas Party. Note the Rush Limbaugh tie.
Why am I a Republican?
Click here to find out. And
I can't imagine our country without the leadership of George W. Bush.
There is no better a man for this time in history.
Most of my computer programming is written in Microsoft Visual FoxPro, and a few
apps are written in Microsoft Visual Basic and Access. For web development I use
Microsoft FrontPage 2002 and hand code in ASP. Yeah, I'm a Microsoftie.
I'm also fond of CorelDraw and all Adobe products.
My hobbies are genealogy, shortwave radio, collecting
coins
from Great Britain
and stamps from Barbados,
N-scale model trains,
and raising freshwater tropical fish.
"Far better is it to dare mighty things, win glorious triumphs, even
checkered by failures, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither
enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight which knows
not victory or defeat." - Theodore Roosevelt
